THE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH
Mass DMH The Mass Department of Mental Health is the state agency that provides a variety of services to help those with mental health conditions on their path to recovery. |
Massachusetts DMH Young Adult Resource Guide This guide is intended for young adults who need assistance in navigating adulthood so that they may achieve their goals of recovery and become successful, independent adults. |
PPal
Parent/Professional Advocacy League is a statewide, grassroots family organization that advocates for improved access to mental health services for children, youth and their families. They provide YA support groups and also have resources for sibling support! |
NAMI Massachusetts
NAMI Mass provides free mental health family-based education, family and peer support and grassroots advocacy to those dealing with mental health conditions. They have some great young adult resources on college, wellness, employment, etc. |
THE TRANSFORMATION CENTER
The Transformation Center is a peer-run center that focuses on wellness and recovery through dialogue, education, advocacy, and peer support. On their site you will find... a specific page with resources just for young adults, some great mental health trainings (Certified Peer Specialist Training, WRAP, etc.), and so much more! |
TAYBC is a group of non-profit agencies who provide one or more programs and resources specifically for young adults who are transitioning to independence. |
Speaking of Hope
The Speaking of Hope website (formerly "Yac-Yac") is a website run by young adult peers that provides recovery information, links and resources for young adults in the Massachusetts area. |
CAMBRIDGE FAMILY & CHILDREN'S SERVICE

Heads Up, which connects youth (ages 8-22) who live or have lived with a family member with a mental health condition to caring adults who grew up under similar circumstances.
Mentors and mentees meet in the community weekly, doing creative and goal-based activities that appeal to both of them, such as visiting a museum or shooting hoops. With parental guidance, mentors are also equipped to discuss mental health with their mentees, providing support around a topic that can often be stigmatized or misunderstood. Heads Up is coordinated by CFCS staff, who recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteer mentors.

THE TRANSITIONS ACR
Learning and Working Transitions ACR
The ACR's main goals are to Improve supports for the successful completion of schooling and training and movement into rewarding work lives in young people, ages 14-30, with serious mental health conditions. Check out their publications page for some great young adult friendly tip sheets! |
TEMPO
Tempo is a single center, which offers multiple supports for young adults ages 17-24. Tempo works with youth who have mental health conditions, a lack of family connections, risky behavior, and other issues such as substance abuse and homelessness. |

MASS BEHAVIORAL

Genesis Club
A club house on Lincoln St. in Worcester MA. that has a comfortable atmosphere and helps with a variety of needs such as housing and supported employment. Plus a variety of people that you may relate to. |
STEPS is a peer supported, safe, non-judgmental place to have fun and receive support in a welcoming environment. At this center, the door is open to ALL young adults between the ages of 18-25 (No referral is necessary).

This is an entirely peer-run organization dedicated to providing support, education and advocacy through providing opportunities and resources for individuals in finding their own path to mental health recovery.
Central Mass RLC
The Transformation Center is a peer-operated center that is spinning off from M-POWER to strengthen a mental health focus on wellness and life recovery through dialogue, education, systems change advocacy, and peer support.
