What is the study about?
The purpose of TYPE is to better understand the experiences of Transition Age Youth (TAY) receiving outpatient psychotherapy treatment. The understanding we gain can be used to improve therapy for young adults and make therapy a better fit for what Young Adults want.

The purpose of TYPE is to better understand the experiences of Transition Age Youth (TAY) receiving outpatient psychotherapy treatment. The understanding we gain can be used to improve therapy for young adults and make therapy a better fit for what Young Adults want.
What will participation look like?
- Young adults who are ages 18-25 years, have a self-identified mental health condition and are new to receiving outpatient psychotherapy, or have been involved in outpatient psychotherapy for 12 months or less are invited to participate
- Participation consists of two interviews. The interviews are scheduled two months apart. Interviews will last roughly 1 hour and will include a web survey and qualitative portion.
- Interviews will take place over the phone, or at a location of convenience (for participants located within 30 miles of Worcester, MA).
- Young adults will be compensated up to $50 for their involvement in this study.
